About Me

Who I am, and why I love what I do:

I am often asked "how" I do what I do, and "why" I do what I do. And what I tell people is always the same; I find great satisfaction and fulfillment in being that person that someone feels safe sharing their story and personal experience with. Often times, I am the first person that they have told, and I see my role as being someone to support them in carrying their history and current experiences, and empowering them to grow from whatever it may be.
I am a "transplant", having moved to the area in August of 2013. Prior to this move, I was working with children, adolescents and their families that were dealing with both emotional and behavioral struggles . Through this work, I came to understand and appreciate how uniquely individuals can respond to challenges and trauma, and the innate resiliency that we all posses.
I have a passion for helping those that are struggling with both incidents of the past, as well as day-to-day stressors and adjustments. Given my recent move, I have also learned to appreciate the stressors associated with life-transitions and acclimating to changes in both physical and emotional environments, and essentially starting from scratch.
I greatly enjoy empowering those I work with to both recognize and become their true selves and meet their utmost potential. This is done through both the therapeutic relationship, and helping the client to identify and tackle what is getting in the way of their own personal success and fulfillment.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of North Carolina (#C008279), and was previously licensed in the state of Connecticut (#007521).
